To help the persons with disabilities to develop their human capacities, inner freedom, self confidence and sense of human dignity and empower them to such an extent that their disability and the consequent need of dependence may not become a handicap in their personal growth.
 
To build up a human community around Snehabhavan which will understand and resonate with the predicament of persons with disabilities, and will respond to them in a mature, enlightened and creative way.
 
 
Aims and Objectives: -
 
  As given in the registered document of Snehabhavan, the main aims and objectives of Snehabhavan are the following: -
 
To assist persons with disabilities to lead a dignified life through medical, social and educational rehabilitation services
 
To undertake works of charity for the uplift of all sections of the society, especially the poor and the marginalized, without discrimination of caste, creed and sex.
 
 
To organize women of the poor sections into self-help groups, and to train them in thrift and credit operations, and family management skills.
 
To impart income-generating skills through a programme of technical training and self-employment skills.
 
To organize various kinds of programmes for the welfare of women and children.
 
To establish and run Special Schools for the education of the mentally challenged.
 
To establish and run a Training centre, where Teachers with special skills for educating and taking care of persons with disabilities are professionally trained.
 
 
To give homebound care and help for the physically and mentally challenged persons.
 
To conscientise the society to accept the persons with disabilities.
To organize the persons with disabilities to fight for their rights.
