| Method
of Training: |
| |
|
|
The
method of training in the special school is based
on the Applied Behavioral Analysis Approach (recommended
by the school of Behavioural Science, M.G.University).
On the basis of this approach the school is conducting
systematic assessment planning and evaluation of
each case of mental retardation. In each step of
assessment and training the school seeks the assistance
of experts like clinical psychologist, social worker,
speech therapist physiotherapist etc. |
|
| Based
on the assessment of the experts an Individualized Educational
Programme (IEP) is developed for each child. Linkage with
therapeutic services such as physiotherapy, occupational
therapy and speech therapy are also given in IEP. As the
children require individualized teaching, the student
teacher ratio in a class for MR is 6:1. The class timetable
includes indoor and outdoor activities and it will enable
them to get maximum opportunities for mental, physical
and social development. |
